Connecting African mineral producers with industrial buyers
We help mine owners find buyers who can actually use their ore, and help smelters and industrial buyers find supply that has been properly checked and independently tested.
We are currently welcoming producer introductions and buyer enquiries.
Taking Africa's mining sector to the next level: connecting its producers with global buyers, and raising the bar to international standards.
Africa holds some of the world's most important mineral resources, yet many independent producers still sell without independent testing, clear contracts or access to global markets. We want to change that, one well-run transaction at a time.
The next level
Helping independent mines present their material professionally, with verified records, proper testing and complete documentation.
Global buyers
Connecting African producers with smelters and industrial buyers in Asia, South America and beyond.
Raising the bar
Preparing every transaction to recognised international practice, so that African supply is judged on the same terms as any other.
The international standards our process follows
- OECD Due Diligence GuidanceThe reference for responsible mineral supply chains: knowing where material comes from and how it was produced.
- ISO/IEC 17025 laboratoriesTesting by laboratories accredited to the international standard for testing competence.
- Independent inspectionSampling, weighing and quality checks at loading by an inspector neither side controls.
- Incoterms® 2020Delivery terms defined in the language global buyers already use, so risk and cost are clear.
- KYC and anti-briberyKnowing every counterparty, and paying local partners only for documented work.
Saxum Metals follows these frameworks in how it prepares transactions; it does not hold them as certifications. Accreditation is held by the laboratories and inspectors appointed for each deal.
Have saleable ore? We help you find a buyer who can use it.
Many smaller mines produce good material but struggle to reach the right smelter or processor. That's the gap we work on.
- Buyers matched to your materialWe look for smelters and processors whose specification fits what you produce, so you're not offering ore to buyers who can't use it.
- Independent testing buyers trustWe arrange sampling and laboratory testing by independent inspectors, so your results are accepted.
- Help with the paperworkWe prepare the product offer and coordinate contracts, export permits and logistics with you and your advisers.
- Clear, written termsOur fee is agreed in writing before any introduction. You never pay for "access".
Tell us your specification. We look for checked supply.
We work from your requirements, not from whatever happens to be on offer.
- Producers checked firstWe confirm who the seller is, what licences they hold and whether they have the right to sell the material offered.
- Independent sampling and testingAccredited inspectors and laboratories do the testing. We coordinate it; we don't certify.
- A clear offerEach offer comes with a specification sheet covering origin, test results, quantity and delivery terms.
Four steps, agreed in writing
We agree the requirement
Product, grade limits, quantity, delivery point and payment terms.
We check the producer
Company, licences and authority to sell the material on offer.
Independent testing
Inspectors and laboratories sample and test the material.
We prepare the deal
Offer, contracts, permits and logistics, with the parties and their advisers.
We act as an agent. We are paid a fee agreed in writing. We don't own mines, hold stock or handle cargo payments: the buyer pays the seller directly.
The Saxum dossier: pit to port, and beyond
Every transaction we manage is built around one record. It follows the material from the mine to the smelter, and stays with the deal after delivery, so the seller, the buyer and every specialist work from the same facts.
Example template. Independent inspectors, laboratories and freight specialists do their own work; we coordinate it and keep the record.

A young company, honest about where it stands
Saxum is Latin for rock. Everything we do starts with the material itself: where it came from, who has the right to sell it, and what it actually contains.
We are onboarding our first producers and buyers. Independent laboratories, inspectors, freight forwarders and legal and tax advisers are engaged as each transaction requires.
